Lasik Treatment

Are you looking for a Lasik or Bladeless Lasik or contoura lasik treatment ? It’s important to mention here, opt for Lasik only if you are a right candidate for it ! We offer advanced Lasik treatment at affordable cost.

What is Lasik?

LASIK is a time-tested surgical procedure to remove glasses painlessly and effectively. The actual procedure takes only a few minutes, is pain-free, and provides clear vision in a matter of days.

This procedure involves two steps – creating a flap in the cornea, and then using a highly sophisticated laser to shape the bed and thereby remove your spectacle number.

LASIK surgery is extremely safe. All patients we see undergo a thorough eye check-up from A to Z. While Lasik Treatment in our hospital, we look for all possible eye variations which could contribute to spectacle power and any previously undiagnosed eye problems. Some of these tests include detailed evaluation of the true spectacle power by different methods, tests for dry eye, intraocular pressure measurement, pupil size measurement, and a detailed retinal check-up. Truly a life-changing experience after Lasik Treatment.

Pre Lasik / Preoperative Checkup

Refractive error can come in many forms. It may be just a spherical error, or a cylindrical error or could be both. Its magnitude can be less, moderate or can be a high refractive error. There is no one solution or procedure that fits all. And that’s why one needs to undergo a comprehensive pre-operative work up to find out the best fit for your eye.

With advancing technology and newer lasers we can offer our patients the best and the safest procedure that suits their eye. A true customized approach to refractive procedure is the need of the hour. The types of procedures we offer are Standard LASIK, Contoura Lasik, PRK and Phakic Lens so to match a patient with the best suited procedure they undergo a comprehensive checkup, looking for any red flags or reasons to choose one procedure over another.

 The tests include

  • Refractive error assessment with cycloplegic refraction (dilated check up of refractive error)
  • Complete clinical assessment of the anterior and the posterior segment (Retina)
  • Corneal topography (pentacam)
  • AS OCT (anterior segment topography) to map the corneal epithelium
  • I tracey to assess the corneal, lenticular and total eye aberrations
  • Schirmers test to assess the tear film levels
  • Ocular surface analyzer to subjectively grade the dry eye is any *
  • Vario (Topolyzer) for contoura treatments
  • Lenstar to measure the axial length of the eye and the white to white data ( for Phakic IOL pts) *

Advanced Technologies ( Lasik Diagnosis )

The iTrace – This unique machine works on the principle of ray tracing technology. Aberrations are imperfections in the optical quality of an eye. Some of these (‘lower-order aberrations’) can be corrected with spectacles and some (‘higher-order aberrations’) cannot. Similarly, conventional LASIK laser can only correct the lower order aberrations. For eyes with significant higher-order aberrations, we offer Wavefront-guided LASIK, a sophisticated technique that is individualized to that eye. It is used in Lasik Treatment in our hospital at Sri Shivshankrappa Nandyal Eye care Centre.

Pentacam (Oculyzer by Alcon) – This is based on Scheimpflug camera wherein the corneal power is measured at multiple points. These measurements are based on elevation from a reference sphere – a form of elevation-based topography. This helps in assessing the corneal cylinder (astigmatism) and different locations. Unsafe cases like eyes with keratoconus are easily picked up with this test. The Pentacam can also accurately measure the thickness of the cornea at various locations and can determine whether the cornea can safely withstand the laser procedure. We use it in Lasik Treatment in our hospital Sri Shivshankrappa Nandyal Eye care Centre.

What is the cost for Lasik Treatment ?

Cost of Lasik Treatment is dependent on what technology you opt for and who is your surgeon. Cost for Lasik Surgery may vary from minimum Rs. 15000 to maximum Rs. 150000. Opt for Lasik only if you are fit for it. There are almost 6 different technologies to do Lasik Surgery. One of the most advanced technique is Bladeless Lasik with Contoura Vision, which is termed a safest technique coupled with some advantages like faster recovery, hd vision etc. No matter what technology is being used, surgeon skills is a most important factor in any type of Lasik Treatment.

At Sri Shivshankrappa Nandyal Eye care Centre the very 1st step in Lasik Treatment is to evaluate whether candidate is fit for it or not. Eye is examined through various tests before selection of technology. Fill up appointment form for consultation and our Lasik Expert will get in touch with you shortly.
